Dreamcatcher: doily, strips

Just finished this one. I'm really proud of it and would love to
keep it, but I made it to sell, so that's what I doing :(
It's 15in x 32in. Pretty huge, but it gives a great effect!

Dreamcatchers

I am absolutely thrilled with how this turned out.
Hand dyed, found feathers, beads from an old necklace.
So proud of this one. It's about 20in long and 8in wide.

coffee plant in a coffee cup

I went to the lake and my friend found this little coffee mug
near the rocks. I took it home (because that's the kind of thing
I do...? haha) hoping to use it for something. I tried to wash it
out but the dirt was just stained in it. So I went to Lowe's and
picked up this little coffee plant and it's perfect!

A coffee plant in a coffee cup, how cute.. hahah

blueberry overload

We planted a blueberry bush 5 years ago. It's never, ever given us
any but this year, we keep filling up baskets and baskets!
They taste so much better than store bought,
but maybe that's because they're free ;)

I'm trying to use as many as I can, so I made blueberry pancakes.
I'm also going to try a blueberry cobbler sometime.

Going out to pick more tomorrow!

cranberry pistachio biscotti

These. were. so. good.
I'm making them again right away.
Ahhh, please try them.
Here's the recipe

diy: owl phone case

My version of this incredibly cute owl phone case

diy: pillowcase bag

This is my new favorite bag and it only cost me 4$ and a bit of time.
I highly recommend this tutorial! I didn't have a pillowcase to use, so I
went out and bought a bit of rough looking, off white cotton fabric
and made my own pillowcase first. It defeated the purpose of reusing
and recycling, but oh well! I love my new bag :))

diy: woven hula hoop rug

This is my (failed) attempt at this adorable woven rug.
It didn't turn out as I had hoped, but i'm going to try it again in the future!
I ended up hanging it on my wall because I didn't know what else to do with it... hah
but it's kind of interesting because it looks like a dreamcatcher.
I might try putting some beads and/or feathers on the end.
We'll see!

No knead bread recipe

Here is a youtube video for no knead bread. Instead of making it with all white flour, I tried whole wheat flour. It's actually pretty good! The video doesn't use the same recipe that I used, but it's the same concept of no kneading. Hope this recipe makes bread as great as mine! :D If it doesn't, sorry. I couldn't find mine online... hahah.

diy: cereal box book

I made this in no time at all after seeing a tutorial on Creme de la Craft
It's really simple and you can customize it however you like.
I'll probably use mine as a little "to do list" booklet :)

diy: chunky finger-knit pillow

I finished this cute little pillow today! Here's the tutorial
And here is a youtube video teaching you how to finger-knit. It's so, so simple!
I'm going to get more yarn so I can finger-knit a braided infinity scarf soon :)
Too bad it's summer...

Dreamcatchers

I started making dreamcatchers about a year ago. I've made so many but i've also sold plenty as well. Since I don't have a job right now, it's my only form of income... but at least it's something I enjoy doing! I'm going to post a tutorial later on when I have time to sit down, take pictures of the step-by-step, and type out everything. The picture above is a cute little one for, say, a car mirror. Below are two other examples of the dreamcatchers I make. One is a tiny keychain. I also make bracelets from those which have been a hit recently. Too bad they're the hardest to make...! The other is a doily dreamcatcher. They're one of a kind because I buy my doilies at antique stores and thrift stores, not the mass produced ones at a craft store.

But like I said, I'm going to post a tutorial later on to show you how to make these. It's a pretty simple technique and there is so much room for creative improv. Most of the time, I just wing it and see how it turns out!

So it begins...

I'm still trying to figure out how to work this.. but I may as well introduce myself :) My name is Kylee. I am 18 years old. I enjoy photography and antique stores and cooking and baking and creating things and everything else along those lines. I made this blog for one reason; I needed somewhere to spit out everything I do. or create. or think. or find. It'll most likely consist of photography and crafts, with a little cooking or baking here and there, and a lot of antique/thrift store/goodwill finds thrown on top :)

We'll see how this goes...
